Yazzie Greenberg, A Joint Venture Partnership with M. Greenberg Construction, has a 40 year history of delivering quality projects on Native American lands. Most reservations are located in rural and remote areas of the State. Securing a reliable materials source as well as a skilled labor force can be a daunting task and we always look to the local community first when seeking qualified tradesmen and suppliers. Yazzie Greenberg Construction has mastered the art of successfully working on remote Native American lands with challenging climatic and geological conditions.
M.Greenberg and Yazzie Greenberg has successfully completed dozens of construction projects of all sizes on Tribal lands. While doing so, we have always respected the local traditions, customs and regulations of each Tribe. Our reputation for completing projects early and on budget, while maintaining the highest levels of quality, is highly regarded and well respected among all Indian Communities. It is always our intent to employ local Native American Subcontractors and Suppliers to help deliver our construction management projects. We believe in supporting the local Tribal economies as well as the surrounding communities and we strive to acquire materials and labor locally.
Yazzie Greenberg's Native American partner is John T. Yazzie Jr. Johnny began his career working in steel fabrication shops and on smaller construction projects throughout the Navajo Nation. From there, he quickly moved up the ranks and was soon in the position of field superintendent. In this role, he oversaw large crews performing complex tasks on diverse structures of all sizes, particularly steel erection and ironwork projects. Some of these included MLB’s Chase Field, Intel’s Chandler Facility as well as numerous industrial, retail and public structures. These large endeavors gave Johnny the ability to hone his skills at manpower utilization, cost estimation, material supply and subcontractor phasing and scheduling.
Johnny knows the value of team effort and is quick to form the relationships needed to successfully complete the job, whether it be with owners, local leaders or subcontractors and suppliers. This is especially important on Tribal Lands, where M. Greenberg Construction focuses much of its attention. Johnny’s keen understanding of Native American customs, laws and building practices places us in a unique position to better serve the respective Tribe’s needs. Johnny also keeps a close eye on the Native American construction employment environment and helps us to seek out qualified tradesmen and material suppliers that keep Tribal dollars local and people working.
Johnny earned his Associates Degree in Business Management from Haskell University in Lawrence Kansas in 1992. He has also earned several certifications including OSHA safety training, municipal building codes and numerous welding trade certifications. Johnny is a current resident of the Flagstaff area and is fluent in his native language of Navajo, or Dine.
